NFL player and former Ohio State wide receiver C.J. Saunders recently visited the Driven Foundation’s Summer Youth Leadership Program at the Reeb Center in Columbus, Ohio. His remarkable journey from a walk-on at THE Ohio State University to an NFL player has left a lasting impression on our participants.

C.J. Saunders began his collegiate career without an athletic scholarship, walking on to the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Through relentless hard work and determination, he became a team captain by his senior year. His story of overcoming numerous obstacles resonated deeply with the boys in our program, teaching them the value of perseverance and dedication.

During his visit, C.J. emphasized the importance of earning one’s achievements through hard work:

“Whatever you want to become, you are going to have to earn it. It won’t just be given to you!”

He also shared how his faith in God has been a source of strength during challenging times, inspiring the boys to maintain their faith and determination.

To commemorate his visit, C.J. Saunders signed an autographed poster for each student, creating a memorable keepsake for the participants. We are deeply grateful to C.J. for taking the time to invest in our youth and share his inspiring story.

The Driven Foundation is dedicated to empowering youth through programs that foster leadership, resilience, and community engagement. Our Summer Youth Leadership Program is just one of the many initiatives we offer to help young people develop the skills they need to succeed.
